Learn the fundamentals of good knife skills from the experts. In this hands-on class, executive chef Bernard Janssen will teach you what makes a quality knife, which knife to use for each task and how to maintain and clean your knives.

You will practice the circular rocking motion, the chopping motion, how to dice an onion, supreme citrus fruits, mince herbs and learn how to use a flexible fish fillet knife. From brunoise to julienne, you’ll master a range of essential cutting techniques, making meal prep easier and more fun!

About Your Instructor

Bernard Janssen is an Executive Chef and Culinary Program Manager for ZWILLING J.A. Henckels, with over 25 years of culinary experience worldwide. He launched the first ZWILLING Cooking Studio in the US in 2015, offering hands-on cooking classes and engaging events. Bernard is a preeminent authority on kitchen knife skills and culinary education, writing original recipes for ZWILLING classes and conducting product trainings and demos nationwide. His inventive flavor combinations and beautiful plating presentations are a hallmark of his cooking style. Bernard lives with his family in New York along the Hudson River.
