At first, I thought it would be fun to try because of all the great reviews, but after the first steak, I wondered how much juicier it was than a previous steak cooked on the grates. Now, after several cooks on the soapstone, including burgers, chicken and fish - It's soapstone magic.

Fantastic for use as griddle and sear stone
Amazing soapstone for the Big Joe. I seared steaks and cooked vegetables on high heat and the steaks were the best I had ever had. Extremely juicy. The sear locked in the flavors. I was mind blown.
Also, this literally soaks up heat so well. I left it cool off outside of the Big Joe for an hour and still cook feel residual heat coming off of it.
Can't wait to try smash burgers on it!
